You know that feeling when you look around and think “how did I get here?” Not in a bad way, necessarily – just disconnected. Going through the motions without really being there.
I get it, because I’ve been there too.
Blooming Boldly Studio is for women who have had enough of settling and are ready to claim this season as their strongest yet. No apologies, no permission required.
Here’s what I believe: growth doesn’t come from hustling harder or chasing the latest trend. It comes from knowing when to root deeper, when to prune back what’s draining you, and when to stretch towards what actually matters.
Hello, I’m Joanne, founder of Blooming Boldly Studio.
At 46, burnout didn’t come knocking at the door – it had moved in and re-arranged the furniture. I was exhausted, anxious, and trapped in a cycle of trying to achieve my way into feeling enough.
My workaholic tendencies were running the show, erasing what few boundaries I’d had. And underneath it all was a relentless voice saying I hadn’t done enough, wasn’t enough – the worthiness loop I didn’t even realise I was stuck in.
That’s when my garden became my unexpected teacher.
Three verbena plants I’d planted as neat ‘dwarf variety’ specimens had completely ignored their label. They’d grown tall, spread everywhere, and were thriving in the most unexpected places. They didn’t ask permission. They didn’t apologise for taking up space. They simply grew where conditions allowed.
Watching them, something clicked:
What if I stopped trying to fit the label and started growing where I could actually thrive?
That question became the seed of Blooming Boldly Studio – for women ready to do the same.
This whole experience taught me how growth actually works. It shaped a philosophy I now share with women like you, ready to bloom boldly:
Root first – Figure out what actually matters to you now, not what mattered five years ago. Anchor your energy there.
Prune back – Release the habits, commitments, and stories that are draining you. You don’t have unlimited bandwidth, so use what you have intentionally.
Stretch towards the light – Lean into what feeds your curiosity and sense of purpose, even if it feels impractical.
Respect your seasons – Some phases are for building, others for resting. Both are necessary.
Claim your space – Flourish freely without apology. You’ve earned the right to take up room.
These aren’t abstract concepts – they shaped how I rebuilt. Now I guide other women to do the same.
